This chilling series is about a Detective Inspector by the name of Helen Grace. A quick summery of the book for all of you guys:
Two people are abducted, imprisoned, and left with a gun. As hunger and thirst set in, only one walks away alive.
It’s a game more twisted than any Detective Helen Grace has ever seen. If she hadn’t spoken with the shattered survivors herself, she almost wouldn’t believe them.
Helen is familiar with the dark sides of human nature, including her own, but this case—with its seemingly random victims—has her baffled. But as more people go missing, nothing will be more terrifying than when it all starts making sense...
Helen Grace has a dark past of herself and is a really strong woman, and most of the people at the police station envied her since she was one of the best at her job. She is certainly an interesting character and I can't wait to get to know her better. The story itself is very original, bone-chilling and made me want to read into the late hours of the night.
M.J. Arlidge is an amazing writer, and really knows how to keep you on your toes. While reading the book, I was so sure I knew who this sick person was that committed the crimes. But I was dead wrong with every suspicion I had. The only thing I have to say about the book is that to me some parts were kind of vague on who was taking/who was acting. But this may have to do with my E-Reader and the format my book was in, I'm not sure.
I am definitely going to read the rest of the Helen Grace series. In fact, I already started the second book! Which is just as thrilling to read as the first one, and I'll definitely let you guys know if it is just as good and exciting as the first one. There is a lot of character development, a lot of thrilling moments, plot twists and more.
Definitely worth reading if you ask me, and I'd love to read your comments about your experience with the book!
Thanks for reading!
XOXO Brenda
